One of the problems with visiting these regions filled with tropical islands is trying to figure out which island to visit! They all look so nice its so hard to choose… Thankfully in Fiji we had some help at the tourist office and choose Mana Island where we were to spend 4 days. It was described as a beautiful island with great beaches and snorkelling, with a tiny local community so we could actually get to meet some locals. It turned out to be a very accurate description, but they forgot to mention that the people there are fantastic! People were so friendly and welcoming that at first our suspicious backpackers’ minds were convinced they had an ulterior motive… But they didn’t, they were just great people who were happy to have us visit their island and made every effort to make us feel at home. And although the island was beautiful, it was the people that really made our trip different and special.

Fidzsi problemaja, hasonloan a tobbi tropusi szigetcsoporthoz, hogy nehez eldonteni melyik szigetet vedd celba azalatt a par nap alatt, ami rendelkezesedre all. Mindnek megvan a maga varazsa. Szerencsere Fidzsi tokeletesen felkeszult a felkeszuletlen turistak hadara es a repuloteren az utazasi irodak bo valaszteka all rendelkezesre. Felesleges barmit is elore foglalni.

Like on previous islands we settled into a regular routine of visiting the beach by day and hanging out in the evening on the beach front. Really nice coral reef just in front of our hostel meant most of our time was spent snorkelling and playing with my new underwater camera case (thanks Briggi!). In fact I took so many underwater photos I somehow forgot to take photos of the places above the water, hence no photos of our hostel and the beach we stayed on…

The only slight disappointment on our stay was the weather as a cyclone was nearby and meant we had a fair bit of rain most days. It almost ruined our onward travel plans, as on the last day the sea became too rough and the boats back to the main island (and airport) were cancelled! Thankfully we managed to get a helicopter ride back to town to catch our flight out.
