This was my first organized trip. It was fantastic! I met some really wonderful people and learned alot of interesting things. Our tour guide was actually very steriotypical looking of someone from the outback. He even kept calling things "beautiful". We trecked around for about 3 - 4 hours a day. Always in the morning because by the time 9 am came around the temperature was already in the 30s. The first two night we had storms blow in and we had to set up tarps and box ourselves in to sleep. The second night was so bad that it actually hailed! So much for being in the desert! The next two nights were spent away from any camp site and we slept by rivers, under the star light. I think there were more stars out ... read more

On the way from Margaret River to Albany, we stopped off near a place called Walpole where there is a superb forest full of amazing Tingle Tingle trees. These trees are MASSIVE, growing up to 60m in height, and 20m round the base. There’s a tree top walk that you can do there called ‘The Valley of the Giants’ which consists of a woodland walk (Ancient Empire Walk at ground level) and a suspended metal walkway taking you to 40 metres above the ground where you can admire the outstanding beauty of these wonderful trees from an excellent & unusual viewpoint. It was a lovely day - slightly cool, but with lots of sunlight filtering through the leaves and branches. There weren’t too many other peeps there at the same time as us, which was great ... read more

Christmas has sprung into action in Sydney. Last year Clover Moore was deemed the Xmas Grinch by that quality newspaper the Daily Telegraph. In an effort to combat any suggestions that she gives coal to children for Christmas presents, this year she has pulled out all stops. Everywhere you look some part of Sydney has been decked out in gaudy xmas decorations. My particular favourites are the scary red xmas trees that are lining both sides of Pitt Street Mall. A combination of Dalek, red pillar mail box and Peter Allen outfit, these trees look like they are about a ton each and could crush a small child in a single fall. I was pleased to see that someone had taken to one with a baseball bat the other day. What great xmas cheer! It was ... read more

Well after about two months in Australia, I figured it was about time to see some real Aussie wildlife. The only animals and birds I had seen so far were small larakeets, while interesting and colorful, became very annoying. Cockatoos’, which were even louder than the parrots, flying fox, which are rather terrifying, and possums. One of the guys I had been hanging out with, Martin, from Tasmania, suggested we venture out to Philip Island. The trip by car would take about an Hour and a half. Philip Island was the place to go to see the famous penguin parade, the Koala reserve, and Kangaroo feeding. I couldn't wait. So we headed out for a day of adventure on the island. When we got there, we headed to check out the koala reserve. We just walked ... read more

Wa-Hey! Got the most fantastic email out of the blue from Dina Poo Shoes asking if I was still in Sydney and whether I fancied a meet up with her and Lenny Clown Boy while they were on their jolly hollies! Within a couple of weeks they flew down from the Whit Sundays and moved into the Parrot and soon it was like the old Smart Human Logistic days in Herts - we were off out on our little adventures, getting into trouble and acting like crazy cats - rah! .... Saturday came along and we were off in search of some dance music, wandering past the strip joints, crack whores and dealers of Kings Cross when we came across Firefly, tucked away in the middle of the madness. The beats sounded good and phat, ... read more

Pencil shavings, baked bread, plums, vanilla, chocolate……. These are just a few of the aromas and taste notes to be found in the amazing wines we tried on our ‘Wine for Dudes’ tour in the Margaret River wine region! What a brilliant time we had. Although, in fairness, since we left Perth in Tony the Toyota last Friday, we’ve been having a ball from sunrise to sunset each and every day. So - here’s what we’ve been up to……… Firstly, to get your bearings, think of a map of Aus. We are currently situated on the bottom left hand corner, south of Perth, and we’re heading downwards in a loop, hugging the coast before heading off to the right for about 800kms. Next we scoot back up in a loop to the left (via the goldfields ... read more
