Day 6: 31Aug2023 (Wed) - Sunny I can't remember what we had for breakfast..
I only remembered the dishwasher was leaking as we washed our plates in it the night before.
Anyway, after we checked out, we were off to Geographe Marina for the main activity of the day, which was whale watching! I was actually very excited as I have not seen whale before. The tour that we booked was All Seas Charter. We were slightly late when we reached so we were quite embarrassed as the rest of people were waiting for us to set off..
The boat was slightly old and not as big as I expected, but the crew were pretty friendly. There were 2 levels on the boat, but it was too difficult to bring A up to level 2 as the stairs were very steep. It took us some time before we saw our first whale. It wasn't what I expected as the whale was pretty far from us. All in all, we did see a few whales but not up close, but I did enjoy sitting at the deck with A viewing the vast ocean.
After the tour, we had our lunch at The Deck and Bistro. The food was slightly pricier but they were delicious and the seafood was very fresh.
After lunch, we were off to our 3hours journey back to Perth city. A slept throughout the journey. I don't have driving license, so husband had to drive the entire journey, which was really tough. I tried to keep myself awake to talk to him but it was so difficult. To entertain ourselves, we played around with the "self-driving" function.
It was already evening when we reached the hotel (Quest Mounts Bay Road). I did the check in first, while A and husband waited in the car. As this hotel did not have carpark, I went to the hotel room with A and 2 luggages first, while husband went to park car. The room was pretty spacious and clean. After resting, we were ready to explore the city. My initial plan was to visit the Botanic Garden and the only way from our hotel was to climb the Jacob's Ladder, which is a looooong flight of stairs. We took turn carrying A and we nearly died... The route to Botanic Garden was much further than I expected and we were unlikely to catch the sunset, so in the end, we turned back and didn't get to see the Botanic Garden. Nevertheless, we were still lucky to catch the sunset at the Jacob's Ladder. After taking in the stunning view, I had to carry A down the Jacob's Ladder as husband has a bad knee. It was not as bad as going up though.
We then drove to our dinner place (Six Senses), Thai cuisine. The restaurant was packed with people, luckily we made reservation beforehand. All the tables were very close to each other, service was slow, but I must say the food was amazing. We took a short stroll along the river before returning to our car.
And that sums up our last full day in Perth.
