The Adventure Begins ...

This trip was a family trip for G and I and our son, who were travelling with our brother and sister-in-law S and J and their three boys.
For the first time in a very long time, we had an early morning flight out of Melbourne, instead of our usual late evening flight. Due to road works on the West Gate and Bolte Bridges and fear of peak hour traffic accidents and so on, we decided to book a night at the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport for the night before our flight.
This worked beautifully. We arrived at around 4.00pm and S & J and the boys were already there. We had time to relax with a couple of drinks before having a surprisingly good dinner in the restaurant of the Holiday Inn before a good night's sleep. Instead of needing to get up at 5:00am if we were home, we got up at 7:00am, had a very good buffet breakfast and leisurely caught the free shuttle to Tullamarine Airport.

And so the adventure begins ...
