caravan central...everyone leaving Adelaide stops here
Keen to get to our beachside destination for the next 4 days we headed off early via Port Wakefield, our first stop.

Port Wakefield is undergoing something of a 'boom', a caravan stop over boom as you will see in the pics, The town sits neatly between the inland attractions of the Clare Valley and the Yorke Penninsular with food outlets and petrol stations and parking for caravans on the move to somewhere, this is Port Wakefield. After a pretty good coffee in a cafe we turned off onto the Yorke Penn.

Passing Tiddy Widdy Beach, we arrived at Ardrossan. Sitting on top of imposing red cliffs, Ardrossan is home of the Stump Jump plough and like most of the Yorke towns is renowned for Blue Swimmer crabs and therefore crabbing. We drove up to the One Steel Lookout to get an amazing birds eye view of the area and across to the Adelaide Hills.

Then on to port Vincent our destination for the next 4 nights, and what a shock we got as we drove down into the town, it looked fantastic. Picture postcard stuff. Arriving at the Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park, absolute beach frontage, powered

lawned sites free BBQ, camp kitchen and recreation room to die for and 5 star amenities. To top this off, the forecast was for around 30 C for all the days we would be here.

Port Vincent is the Penninsular's most versatile holiday destination, yachting, fishing, crabbing, great beaches and a centre to tour the Yorke from, a magic spot for our stopover. To fiinish the day we took Jackie for a long walk on the beach and she loved it,

Emu racing?
Haha! That photo of Mum is hilarious! And it is good to see that Dad can come out from behind the camera, nice photo of him on the jetty. As usual, your camp setup looked fantastic - definitely not roughing it!
