I had an early start at Arkaroola on Tuesday morning. I packed up the car, had breakfast and checked out in time for the 8am departure of the Ridgetop Tour. The tour is probably the best-known tour at Arkaroola and while expensive, it was on my must-do list for this trip. There were 13 of us booked in so we were split over 2 Landcruisers that have been fitted out with padded seats on the back. I got in the first one and our driver was Rick, a typical outback guy with long hair and beard, and a hat similar to my own. Hi blog followers. This is part two of a three part blog of our latest adventures over the last couple of weeks. From Hawker we moved on further inland to Rawnsley Park Station which is just at the bottom of Wilpena Pound. What a great park it is with excellent facilities and a really good atmosphere about it and they haven't gone overboard with the captive audience and prices. The only slight drawback was there was limited Mobile coverage. I.e. We had to go to the camp kitchen to get a good "Telstra" signal. Bad luck for anyone who was connected to any other service providers as none of them have had service in hundreds of kilometres. The funny thing was, we got 100% signal when we went for the 11.5km walk up to Rawnsley's Bluff. ... read more

Let's play some hangman Long day on the road again Will help pass the time. Apparently the girls next to us in the underground room were very noisy when they got back last night. There was only a thin wooden wall separating our rooms and Mandy couldn't take it anymore and asked them to be quiet 3 times. I was so "dead to the world" that I didn't hear any of it and didn't hear about the incident until we all woke up this morning! lol 6:30 take off. I witnessed yet another amazing sunrise. Not the most spectacular but always nice to see the reds and pinks in the sky. Opposite the sunrise the sky was striped blue, pink and blue. Apparently this was from the shadow of the Earth.
