We are heading out Saturday morning after three weeks of hell. Everything which could go wrong did, culminating with GMan being stung by a bee again. As a result he has one arm which looks like Mr Atlas and the other like Mr Stick. The Dr's just tell him to keep popping anti-histamines. We have a very large supply under the bed with all the other medications for the quarantine people to laugh about when they inspect the vehicle. Of course we store them right next to the red wine. Not everything got done, but what the heck it will still be waiting when we get home on 20th September. A broad overview of the semi planned trip is - up the Stuart Highway to Henbury Meteorite Craters, down to Curtin Springs, across the great Central ... read more

The area at the oval in Cadell was very nice indeed. Just 7 bays, all with power, one is permanently occupied by the caretakers. There is even a dump point. We spent a nice quiet evening watching more Foyle's War and in the end the rain did not come to anything. The amenities here are exceptional. They are actually the change rooms for the oval. My oh my, the footy players must be very different. Terracotta tiles on the floor, jarrah surrounds on the HUGE mirror over the three square handbasins. Jarrah seating. Very posh indeed and not a sweaty jock strap in sight. We both had a giggle because we compared notes and discovered that each set of rooms had a large sign under an electric switch which said EX-FAN. We wondered if anyone had ... read more

When Shirley and Dave emailed to see if we wanted to join them for the Charles Stuart University Vintage Dinner (wine of course) to be held in Wagga Wagga on 9 November we of course accepted. It will be great to catch up with them again and we will also be joined by another friend Jenny - we haven't seen her since Dave's 60th birthday and that was coming up 10 years ago. With reference to our little friend on the right, he has been elusive since we came home in August - hiding all over the house. He has been told, he WILL be returning to WA very soon. Wagga Wagga, (pronounced Woga Woga and shortened to Woga for our overseas readers) is 963 kms away from where we live in Brinkworth. The van was ... read more

Chewie and Bartholemew Otis have now become "the boys". Mostly they have been good except for one memorial occasion when they were relegated to the bumper for "1057 green bottles hanging on the wall" There are 28 photos attached to this, so it is a long way to the comments area..... 20th April - We left Brinkworth not long after 8:30am and had not even left the town boundary when Graham asked if I had packed his Kindle. Not my issue! Back we went. Chris and Sally were wondering how long it would be before we were back when Graham wandered in to get it. Off we went again and managed to not have to return. We drove steadily, not wanting to stop much in the areas we had visited before and because we did want ... read more

Two protests about no photo of the new tow vehicle, so here he is in all his glory - Meet Brutus III. He looks just like Son of Brutus but white. A lot shinier, a better motor but still a TRUCK. We love Nissan's. Over the past three weeks we have added a bullbar with two towbars on the front so we can drive the van into place as we are such incompetent backers, snorkel, dual battery system, driving lights, UHF radio, rear vision camera on both the van and the vehicle, electric brake controller, had a special shelf built for the back of the vehicle with a cargo barrier and the fridge slide bolted into place right next to the plug to run it. Mieke wants to know where the bookshelves are, sorry cannot fit ... read more
