I took the early morning skybus to the airport (5AM). Plane was uneventful flight with Virgin Airlines. I did sleep through the courtesy cookies so I was hungry when I landed. Adelaide like Canberra was not a big tourist city but I had a good friend in the city so that is why I included it on my trip. Stephen was from my Topdeck bus and was one of 10 guys on that bus. Background on Stephen he was one of 2 guys on the bus who had a girlfriend back home and is religious and is just about the nicest guy I have met. My first impressions of him was that he was partier because he has a 5 o'clock shadow beard. As with a lot of the time first impressions aren't always accurate. Stephen ... read more

I had been waiting impatiently for the Asia Cup tickets to go on sale because I plan to attend the Semifinal and the Final (hopefully Australia will do the right thing and make it), after a bit of swearing I finally managed to purchase these tickets over the net, they only cost about $15 AUD each so no big deal if I dont get to the stadiums on time for start of play. I have booked my main return flight to Kuala Lumpur and have also booked a half a dozen one way legs shooting off all over Asia. Departure date will be the day after my last exam on the 27th June and I return home on the 1st of August. I will stop over briefly in Singapore and over night in KL where I ... read more

Well after 6 months of working and saving its time to go again. This time will be a safe easy trip compared to the last one. Took the bus to the airport where after purchasing a beer in the Coopers Bar I sat through a 30 minute telephone interview which ended only a few minutes before our scheduled boarding time. The flight was very late which ofcourse meant we arrived in Auckland late and were tired when we finally got to our hotel, actually we were so knackered that we foolishly raided the minibar. Air New Zealand is much to much like Qantas for my liking, scrimping on the food and drinks, I much prefer the Asian airlines. We are staying at a place called the Duxton Hotel in central Auckland for the first three nights ... read more

After a lot of indecision I have finally chosen the destination of my next adventure. I chose this region of the world for a number of reasons the first being the shining review it got from Arthur a Melbourne lad I met in Cappadocia (Turkey) a few years ago. The second because war is a disaster when it comes to preserving a nations historical sites (Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq showed the world this) and this region is likely to become even more of a hotspot in the months to come, so I wanted to get in before the American or Israeli bombs. In seven weeks I plan to experience the best the Persian Gulf has to offer visiting UAE, Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and ofcourse Iran. Saudi is out as it is the most difficult ... read more
