Hi Fellow bloggers,
So after 2 really nice chilled days we were heading to Surfers paradise for some more chilled days lol!!
We got up and had some breakfast of cheese on toast and hot cross buns, then said our goodbyes to Terry our host of the last few days, then our friend Paul Maguire came and picked us up to head down to Surfers Paradise.
Paul offered to drive us as he was heading down to see a friend and to play golf the next day, We had booked up the premier bus: $295 dollars Cairns to Sydney ticket as it needs an ongoing itinerary otherwise it won’t book it up. (Strange but this is the company policy so you have to book seats your not going to use because of this!!!)
Paul had to go to his place to pick up some stuff before going, he had just moved to a new apartment (can’t remember where sorry Paul), it was really nice and had a good location and views. We then got on the road and were on our way!!
It took about 1hr
to get to Surfers (this was the scenic route), and then Paul said he would give us a tour of the Gold Coast. We first headed to Burleigh Heads, we had a good view of Surfers from here and Paul’s friend met us, so we decided to have lunch, Paul paid (thanks again) and we had burger and chips and Vick had a salad. The weather was perfect. Paul’s mate turned up with his daughter and we decided to have a walk through the national park next to the beach, it lead to some amazing view points and down the coast to Coolangatta.
We then headed along Palm beach, stopped at Currumbin at the turtle rock to have a look about and ended up at Coolangatta, this was where the main surfing contests takes place and is on the border with NSW, we quickly passed into NSW to have a look up the coast, Paul had to head back so we headed back to our unit owned by Terry and Robbie again.
After we thanked Paul for everything and said our goodbyes we headed into the unit. It’s a really nice 2-bed condo, right
on the beach. (Again we are spoilt) We needed to get some food so we headed to the town to get some stuff from the shop.
After a 3km walk in we had a look around and ended up getting some beers as we had all our left overs from the night before for dinner. We walked back and when we got there Mike; Terry and Robbie’s son was home, he was a nice guy who had just finished surfing and was heading out with his mate so we made our introductions quickly.
We cooked dinner enjoyed the sunset and then the moonrise!! (I know never seen a moon rise after the sun before). We had the beers and chilled watching the TV before it dawned on us how tired we both were so we hit the hay!!
Love N&V X
