Surfers Paradise...Surfers Paradise...Surfers Paradise...

..straight onto the beach!
G'day mate,

we arrived in surfers just before sunset after the drive back from coffs. Surfers is all about the highrise and expensive surroundings. A couple in the camper next to us were off to draculas that evening which is a dinner/show thing, so we asked them to let us know how it went cause we were interested in going. The next morning the couple from Canada said that it was really good and totally different to anything they had ever seen. So that day we went out and bought tickets to go and see it.

For the rest of the day, we had a look around and headed for the main town and beach. It was really busy, with lots of young people, with shopping centres and lots of eating places. There were alot of people having surfing lessons which was quite funny to watch. We were still pretty tired from the last couple of days, so went back to the camp for a swim. The park had 3 really nice pools so it was nice to enjoy them and a few hours enjoying the sun!

The next evening we got dressed up for our evening at
the town..the town..the town..

..busy busy
draculas (which we havent done for ages)! All outside were staff dressed gothic with their faces painted and their outfits were really good. We were first greetet by a guy dressed as dracula who told us to go through this coffin which was a doorway into the cocktail lounge. The whole place was done out really well with skeletons in the floor. Some of the cocktails came with a jelly shot in a syringe. Unfortunately you coulnt take any pics inside once inside.

From here we got a ghost train into the main theatre. We were seated at our table as you have a 3 course meal whilst watching the show. The pudding being a chocolate coffin. All the staff had their own character and picked on people to embarress them. They all acted really rude and abrupt and screamed randonly! They were just nuts! The show was really good and entertaining. The show and meal cost $74 which is about 35 pounds, but it was really good. We had arrived at 6pm and dint leave till about 11.30pm, so we got a whole eveings entertainment. We had to be up really early the next day to go to
The beach..The beach..The beach..

..its so clean!
Australia zoo. Crikey!

It took only 2 hours to reach the zoo, which was good going! We first watched the croc show in the famous animal planet crocoseum, which was really good, hand fed kangaroos and cuddled a koala, but it wasnt reall the same without Stevo. A memorial was put up and lots of paintings and poems, it was quite sad as he is such an icon here, even now! His pic was everywhere though and videotapes of him doing his thing, were playing in different parts of the zoo. It was like he was still very much alive at the zoo which was really nice!

It was a pretty big zoo with elephants, tigers and lots of other animals, the only difference being is that all the animals interact with humas all the time! It was a really good day and it was late afternoon and we were on our way up to Hervey bay, the next day, so we stayed in a park near the zoo that evening!

Until next time, Party on dudes
