The world's biggest tent (picture doesn't do justice)
How YOU doin? - Interesting experiences on the Sunshine Coast that was not so sunny. Melissa, Bird, and I made the train but Maria and Leah got left behind because they took the elevator since stairs weren’t an option with their suitcases. I felt bad seeing their sad faces through the train window but I couldn’t really make the train stop. They had a pretty good time at McDonalds so I'm not too worried (lots of wine involved).

We somehow made it to Dicky Beach campsite. We had a gigantic tent pitched that fit 10 people – it actually had rooms in it and 4 doors to get in! Uncle Hal could probably stand comfortably inside. We left our bags in the tent, hit up the beach, met up with Maria and Leah later on, then ordered pizza in our tent! We played Cheers Governor which was pretty fun. We decided to get dressed up and head to the local bar. They didn’t let Bird in, which was a letdown. She got upset and homesick so she went back with Leah. There were dancing cowgirls there – Maria told Melissa she had to imitate them so she did. We met

Jack and Luke (aka Joey from Friends) who were pretty weird. No gay guy makes Friends references (“How YOU doin”) over and over. The best part of the weekend was looking at the pictures Sunday morning.

Sunday – we did nothing. Literally. It was too cloudy for beach time. It rained at night so we passed out at 9pm. The next day was an experience. It poured rain from 5am until 9am! Our tent was leaking all over and I just laid there in silence like, “Oh my god, get me home to Brisbane.” But I ignored the rain and avoided the thought of having to get up, pack, and fold up soaking wet tents. Which was what we did. Not so fun. We made it home safely.

One thing we take for granted at home – the internet. Maria and I recently have to take a bus to campus to go online. Oh well – perks of being abroad. That wraps up our long weekend.
