Day 72 Rockhampton

A big trip today for the Hamers of approx 210 Km. Had a stop for a cuppa and then kept going to Rockhampton. Rather hot at 34 deg and somewhat humid. Just went to the botanic gardens and their little free zoo in time to see the chimpanzees being fed.

Clairview Beach 1
This is with the tide out which makes it rather ugly. Locals said it goes out 1500 metres.

Spire
This is in Rockhampton on the Tropic of Capricorn.

Chimp 1
A lovely character called Cassius. The initial shock horror of two of these creatures being in a cage did decrease a bit when we heard they are 35 and 32 year old brothers who have been there for years.

Chimp 2
This one punctured the hole in the juice box with the straw before sucking up the contents.

Koalas
Several koalas enjoying a feed including this one with a baby.
