Noosa was as laid back as laid back can be. Coffee for the boys: morning, noon & night. Gelatti for the girls as an after dinner treat. Water, surf and sand. Cards at night. Torrential summer rain storms and beautiful sunny afternoons. We had a hike one afternoon around Noosa National Park. The scenery was beautiful and we saw lizards sunning themselves. ... read more

We travelled for another 230 km down the coast to Noosa passing through a fantastic little bay called Tin Can Bay. It was stunning with a lovely little harbour. It was extremely quiet when we arrived but we managed to find a lovely little coffee shop overlooking the bay. Kerry decided, yet again, that we were going to move here instead and her and her mum would run a little coffee shop just like this whilst Stu went out and caught some fish for her Sushi restaurant, which she also wants. Nothing like having sky high ambitions eh? We arrived in Noosa around lunch time and went for a drive around to get a feel for where we wanted to park up. We only found one campsite anyway but it was really nice and very very ... read more

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the zoo the best bit was getting up close to a lot of the animals. At every opportunity the pubic were encouraged to get involved. The only down side to our visit was that Steve Irwin was no longer there to strut his stuff in the Crocoseum. Although he has built up an unforgettable legacy you could feel the zoo missed his presence. The large memorial and many boards filled with pictures of his exploits brought to you a sorrow for his untimely departure and a sympathy for poor little Bindy who has been seemingly positioned into the unenviable job of filling the great mans shoes. Throughout the day we got to see all the animals that were native to Australia, a lot more than we had imagined. The ... read more

Hi, I am in Noosa right now. Well lets say until tomorrow. Noosa is a small town, but with european flair. The atmosphere is really enjoyable. I even tried surfing for the second time. But the waves on the sunshine beach were just to strong. I felt like in a washing mashine. I could hardly get off the shore... and splash the waves tumbled me around. Now I can imagine how people drown in the waves on a shore. Today I will just hire a body board (a very small and easy to use board) and hope to enjoy it more, than yesterdays disaster. :-/ Noosa itself looks very clean and tidy. The centre looks like a typical holiday town. Bars, clubs, Exspensive restaurants and boutiques. The main beach is very croweded, but once you go ... read more

We spent three lovely days, and 4 days in Queenslands sunshine coast. Noosa had the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. Me and linda definetly took advantage of the sun and spent many hours lying on the beach. Although the beach was beautiful it was extremely expensive and way tourist. We stayed in a nice hostel that had a bar and grill attached. We tried Australias sad attempt to make a burito, not even close. We also participated in bar games and won about three pitchers of beer, thanks to linda and our new sweedish friends. They are so relax here. They accepted a paper copy of my passport as a form of id, and we went through the airport without having our id checked once. Unfortunately it started pouring on our second day there ... read more

jamie and i went to the zoo yesterday, it was so awesome! first of all, the double decker bus (never been in one, we sat in the front top on the way home...pretty sweet. i know i'm a huge geek!) second...TONS OF KOALAS! they're the cutest! we saw tons... as well as kangaroos (i pet one!!!) snakes, lizards, komodo dragons, tasmanian devils (which are actually so SO cute, mom you'll appreciate that! haha). it was well worth the money and time spent. i'd recommend it to anyone! We're leaving Noosa Heads this afternoon to head up to Rainbow Beach. Our plans for the next few days consist of surfing tomorrow morning at 7am, leaving for a three day camping trip on the biggest sand island in the world the next day, then spending christmas weekend on ... read more

The last couple weeks have been very interesting...filled with beautiful sights, amazing attractions, a few rough times and some revelations as well. Our trip north of Byron Bay has been very interesting. In a way we were sad to be leaving a stable living scene in Byron, even though it was just a tent set up in a Caravan Park, but it was still home for a month. But on the other hand we were glad to be on the move again, heading north into the ever increasing heat and humidity! Our first stop out of Byron was Surfers Paradise. It was paradise, but not for surfers. The waves weren’t all that great, and if you did want to get any you needed to be out there by around 6:00am to get anything decent. That didn’t ... read more
