Hello Everyone, I'm just about melting here in Noosa, but at least the rain finally stopped! Since I last "talked" to you all I have left Byron Bay, spent a couple days in Surfers Paradise, over night in Brisbane and then a couple days in Noosa. I didn't like Surfers Paradise as much as Byron Bay, but at least it wasn't raining in Surfers. However, when they say there are a lot of high-rise apartment buildings they really did mean it. Byron Bay was a lot more laid back and relaxed and I liked it there a lot more. I was lucky enough to be picked up by a friend of a friend for a home cooked meal in Surfers one night though, so that definitely beats the backpackers menu I’ve been sticking too for the ... read more

After our night in Brisbane, we were headed to Noosa Beach. We had heard this place was a wealthier beach community that was quaint & typically beautiful! We got there and of course were not disappointed. The town centre was so cute filled with yummy looking restaurants and cool shops. Our first order of business was setting up a surfing lesson for the next day. So all four of us headed out to the beach on a beautiful day for surfing. Kathryn had taken a lesson in Byron, me & Lynds had our few in Manly, but MN was a beginner. We had a great instructor that taught us each a lot. It was so much fun! The following is a combined multiple journal entry detailing my weeklong holiday in Noosa November 15, 2000 I arrive in Noosa in a cloud of soup. All good. Great Location. The beach is really close, as are the shops. There is a movie thearter close by. I saw Snatch today. It was another incredible triumph from the creators of Lock, Stock, and 2 Smoking barrels. So far this hostel, Halse Lodge, has a little more of a party atmosphere than I expected. And here I was thinking I was going to get a relaxing, laid back surf holiday. I don't mind though. It definitely has a different vibe as compared to the hostels in the Northern Territory. The hostel does however go into severe lockdown at 11pm.
