april 30 portmacquarie chilly night, warm sunny day spruik. wonderful support, reports of sightings. wedgetail eagle above the esturary. all good. then up thru kempsey to scottshead where russel was away and jan had flu.
may 1 early to bellingen blitz - overwhelming support. backpacker bloke hung flag and let me cook lunch in kitchen! short ride to coffs for harbour spruik. overcast.
may too. prosperous suburb parkup, dark night heavy cloud. morning in marina, onya coffs. sunny barby where two women got large for flagpole woolgoolga! and one woman i fell in love with at first sight and she listened to me patiently and at length. sun setting while i have my first beer, legs aching from so much walking, i feel good.
may 2 up early to grafton - the highway or the byway? morning sun flickering through the trees. i took the summerland way through pasture and bush. past bungawalbin, two mile creek, bora ridge, mongogarie and vouts rd. no problem. then later parkedup outside hotel reading herriot, streetlights dancing on tinnie as i drank, laughed.
