Stuck in the sand
Thankfully this only happened once! We arrived on this sub-tropical sand island which is about the same size as Surrey and were met by our tour ranger for the three days called Graham. Then we got on board his 4X4 lorry/bus which was to be our transport around the very rough terrain which varied from very steep descents and inclines to flat desolate beaches with the occasional Dingo.
The tour took us from one fresh water paradise lake to another. Along the way we saw lizards, spiders, Sub-Tropical rainforests, 'Sand Blows' or 'dunes' depending from which hemesphire you come, Dingo dogs (fox type scavangers) and a fresh water creek or two. The Walking was hard but rewarding. Coming out of the two kilometre trek through the jungle to a silent fresh lake was sheer bliss, hopefully the photos are a good impression of this.
