Daintree Rainforest
Our beast of a tour bus taking us all around the beautiful rainforest. Again a brutally early morning today, we were being picked up at 6AM for a day trip to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree Rainforest. Shortly after getting ready the bus/4WD arrived, we were the first to be picked up. We drove around Cairns picking a few other people up then were on our way to Port Douglas to pick up a few more. Even though for Hannah and I we had really only been driving around, it was quite a good way to see more of Cairns and Port Douglas. The drive to Port Douglas from Cairns was also a very good one with beautiful views out over the cliffs towards the ocean. Eventually everyone was on board, it was a full bus, and we were on our way to the Daintree River for a cruise.
Once we arrived we had a quick break and had a cup of tea and a toilet stop. This particular tour we had chosen was not the youngest of crowds, in fact I was easily the youngest on the bus so we were in for lots of tea and toilets stops throughout the day. Shortly after arriving by the Daintree River we headed down

Towards the end of the cruise we were lucky to have seen a crocodile, loads of birds and also a few large jellyfish as we made our way to the other end of the river where our tour guide was waiting with the bus. We were now officially in the Daintree National Park and our next stop was the award winning Discovery Centre in the heart of the rainforest.
Shortly after stopping at a gorgeous lookout point for some photos we arrived at the Discovery Centre. We met our guide who showed us to some refreshments before we were shown around the beautiful Daintree Rainforest via the metallic walkway. It was a fantastic view since the walkway had been built quite high off the ground enabling us to get a good view of both the bottom of the rainforest and towards the top. We continued along all the while listening to our incredibly detailed guide, a little too much detail to what we wanted really. Eventually we reached a massive lookout tower which gave us spectacular

It was a yummy buffet of steak, sausages and loads of salad, Hannah and I ate as much as we could before eventually we were called back onto the bus to our next stop.
We arrived at Cape Tribulation and walked through the rainforest towards the stunning beach. It was such a hot day and all I wanted to do is jump in the crystal clear water, until our guide mentioned all the crocodiles which lived there. We headed down the beach and up to an amazing lookout where we all took loads of fantastic photos. Next we drove back down the coast and headed for the Daintree Ice-Cream Company. It was a very quick stop, we jumped out bought some unusual flavoured ice-cream then jumped back on the bus for Mossman Gorge. Unfortunately our guide told us that they had been planned to upgrade the walk at Mossman Gorge for almost 20 years, and they had finally begin work a few days ago so a lot of it would be shut off to public, how

Once we got there access wasn’t too bad and by that stage of the day we were all too tired to do any strenuous walks. Mossman Gorge was stunning, crystal clear waters running down a stream full of large rocks. People were swimming in the gorge as the water was incredibly refreshing. We walked as far as we could go and got some great photos and eventually made our way back to the bus. We drove all the way back to Port Douglas to drop people off then it was another hour before we reached Cairns, Hannah and I were the first people picked up this morning, and the last people dropped off. After a massive day we didn’t really eat much for dinner and had a very early night.
