Thought we would do something a bit more energetic today. All this sitting around is making us a bit lazy! So off we went day tripping to explore some caves west of Cairns. Very dry all the way out to Chillagoe. Heaps of cows to slowdown for all looking skinny and hungry! Only passed two cars on the whole journey. The temperature was stinking hot and humid so not really great for scrambling through caves and probably explained why no one else was out there. We had a good time. Peter got more and more daring as we went but I had to say no at the Bauhinia Cave entrance. It was a pitch black hole only just big enough to fit through and almost vertical! Part III Sunday was Easter! And the Easter bunny was very keen and visited everyone! I wasn’t expecting anything from the Easter bunny, but Heather was very nice and included me in the holiday tradition. The night before she had come to me asking for my hat (technically it was her’s but I was using it) and that I could have it back in the morning. I was quite confused what you would need a hat for in the middle of the night, but I wasn’t going to ask questions. My best answer was that she was worried about a bat roosting above her. Part II On the way to Chillagoe, we stopped and picked up some more groceries and also found this cool little place called Coffee Works. It was a little store and it had a coffee tasting room along with a lot of different kinds of chocolate. My favourite type was the chilli chocolate which tastes just like regular chocolate but at the very end you hit the heat of the chilli, it was very interesting. On the way to Chillagoe, which is in the Bush, we were passing all of these wild cows, and there were even these warning signs depicting a cow destroying a car!
