On Our way to the Outer Great Barrier ReefsOn Our way to the Outer Great Barrier ReefsOn Our way to the Outer Great Barrier Reefs

We took this boat 1.5 Hours each way to get to our destination
We arrived in Cairns 2 days ago and booked into our Hotel The Cairns Queenlander. When we went to our combined room / appartment, of course we checked it out. Well we opened the kitchen drawer and we saw a cockroach. We loked everywhere else in the place and didn't see anymore so we were not to concerned at that point.

We went out for supper and came back and agin turned on the lights. Well remember the movie called Joes Appartment with all the cockroaches? This was like that. They were havin a party! We quickly went to the reception desk and complained to no avail and was handed a bug spray! We were shocked and asked to change rooms. No...... We were told! I asked for my money back for 4 nights and was told it was not possible! We had to talk to our travel agent and do it through them. Since we were going on an excursion the next day we asked to change rooms again. Well we were able to change rooms and at once we found cockroach XXXXX><>???? everywhere. We went back down and again was offered the spray solution. By
that time guests
Okay so we were not dressed to killOkay so we were not dressed to killOkay so we were not dressed to kill

We suited up and laughed at how ugly we looked
were downstairs and outloud I asked if they liked staying in a cockroach infested Hotel?

Guess what, I received a room without cockroaches. You guys know me that I love to play when I am wronged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Great Barrier Reef is all it is advertised to be. I rented a digital underwater camera and took some amazing pics. A disposible underwater is 10$ less than a rented camera can you believe that! I took 400 pics at 3.3 megs each. Its gonna be lotsa fun playing on the computer . QuickSilver tours was awsome .We boated out to the middle of the reef to a platform and snorkeled for 3 hours. They put out a fantastic seafood spread for lunch. Cairns is cheaper than Sydney. lots of Japanese here investing in Tourism and properties. An off day today and tomorrow we go to the rainforest area near Cairns. I can see me coming back here at a later date but renting a camper. Beaches as far and as uncrowded as the eye can see. This is definately the best time of year in Cairns. No rain , humidity justed a delight in temperature.
