Cairns

I would'nt say i was dissapointed in cairns, i felt a little under the weather because we knew that our East coast tour is ending here and that everybody we have met long the way are going their seperate ways - Darwin, Thailand, USA, UK.... plus coming from the Whitsundays and Fraser island, cairns is really not that pretty, especially as the sea front is nothing more than a mud bath.

Nevertheless we decided it would be best to purchase one of those vintage 5 litre Stanley wine boxes drink it and go sample the nightlife.

Cairns nightlife! wow. its maddness abit like an 18-30's holiday in Tenerife. As all the Oz Experience buses either start or end here, the town is brimming with excited backpackers.

There is a great atmosphere here and the hostels are nice too, shame i have to leave for melbourne soon. I heard that it is good to do your PADI course here on the Barrier reef but i have decided to leave it until Thailand, maybe i will regret it? but i am broke so there is no point writing about it.....

I feel sad, lt is the end of a holiday within a holiday. I will miss the east coast backpacker trail,
