We are looking for 3 people who wants to clean for free accomodation and free internet. I repeat, the first 3 people who will get to the reception for the cleaning, will get free accomodation and internet."

Well since my last blog I have spent a week in Surfer's Paradise and am currently in Brisbane. We had our own apartment in Surfer's! It made all the difference to have our own kitchen, bathroom, living area and most importantly a TV! There isn't a lot of things to do in Surfer's Paradise so we created our own entertainment with girly nights in and various nights out. It was a bit like being in Ibiza-not very cultural but a good time had by all. On our last day we decided to get off our bums and do something so we booked a horse riding adventure trail throught the Hinterlands which was 45 mins drive away. The horse ride was amazing-we rode through valleys, hills, rivers and woods for 3 hours. The only down side was ... read more

I had thought, in my ignorance, that due to the fact that ourselves and Madge were sticking strictly to the coast from here on in, there would actually be things to see along the way. Apparently not. After leaving Airlie Beach we passed through ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for two whole days. And I mean N-AH-THING. No towns or even petrol stations for hours, and when we did stop for fuel, you'd swear we were the first outsiders the locals had seen since the dawn of the new millenium. Strange, very strange. We stopped in Rockhampton for a night along the way, which is a generic crappy Australian town, in a motel called Paul's or Dave's or something similiar. We love Motels. Motels mean comfy beds, ensuite bathrooms and tvs with lots o channels. Lovely jubly. After that ... read more

Hey salut !!! OK so there it is. During 3 months, I stayed in Brisbane. no picture of Brisbane because I didn't have time to visit really. I went a bit in the town center an around, but no picture! I spent the most of my time working, and when I wasn't working, I had party... So as you can see, I was really busy! It was fun to try this new job. I did door to door selling. Never did that before, but worked well. I did make good money! In fact, I had been lucky. It happened in Queensland the same that in France, at the same time. The deregulation of the electricity. Everybody can choose their electricity retailer. And me, I came on the door of people to say Hello and propose them ... read more

G'day to all, suppose I better keep you all up to date on what I’ve being doing over the last month or so. So sit back relax and enjoy this 4th edition of the blog. Well we'll start from the beginning. I decided while in Melbourne that it was time to head up North and see some more of Australia, that and the fact the weather down in Melbourne made me feel more like I was at home. So I flew to Brisbane just wearing shorts and t-shirt to find it was absolutely pissing it down, I reckon the locals could spot the tourist a mile off. So I headed across to the coach station were I had my nine hour bus journey to Bundaberg to catch, as you can imagine I was really looking forward ... read more

So I now see why they call it Briz-Vegas. After hearing for Boyatt and Aikes rave about their beloved Briz-Vegas for years, I was excited to see Brisbane - the tropical Paradise City, where the grass is green and the girls are pretty. When I got there it all made sense. You know how we refer to Manchester and Lexington as Manch-Vegas and Lex-Vegas? Ya. It's just like that. It's a real city...i guess. And everyone calls it Briz-Vegas too, all with a half chuckle in their voice. Let me skip the suspense and just tell you there's nothing there. Mix in this two-decade long drought and even the Botanical Gardens were an empty wasteland. So a 1.5 days was PLENTY of time to get myself bored. So I figured I'd make the best use ... read more

I was talking to a mate last year about going to Brisbane for a weekend to watch the football and perhaps just have a few drinks. In the end four of us went, Timmay, Kutts, Steve and myself, we booked a few rooms at the Marque Hotel right in the middle of the CBD close to the Casino and South Bank bridge. We arrived in Brisbane around 10.35am and took a cab to town before leaving our bags at the hotel and heading off to explore a bit, first stop was Queens St where we had a bight to eat before crossing the river and wandering down South Bankwhere we hopped on a Catamaran for a view of the city from the river. Brisbane reminds me a bit of Auckland and Dunedin and perhaps a little ... read more

G'day! The blogs are gonna come thick and fast now that I'm on the move again but I'll do my best to keep them short and sweet I promise! After my boozy leaving night in Melbourne it was a bit of struggle to get myself organised for the plane the next day - why must I always leave packing till the last minute?! Got myself to the airport and on the plane no problem and arrived in Brisbane excited about meeting up with Brenda and Susan. Once I did we headed to our hostel. From the second I'd met up with them the girls were already apologising for the state of the hostel so I knew it was going to be interesting! We had been booked into the somewhat plush City Backpackers but they'd messed up ... read more
