Our first weekend trip was out to the Scenic Rim. It wasn't somewhere I'd thought of going but Amy was given tickets to a food festival by the company she worked for at the time so we thought why not make a full weekend of it! Aratula was a very quick 1hr 20min drive from the city and so we timed our arrival for just before lunch. The Winter Harvest Festival is, as the name suggests, all about food! And so we wandered the inside stalls sampling local honey and cheese before going outside in the sun to try local butchers produce including some delicious snags and sliders (that's sausages and posh little burgers!). Bags are pretty much packed. Electronic things are all charged up. Herc is stuffed in my tiny handbag. Perishables have been distributed to neighbours and beloved Boonah friends. Birds and the Bins done. We are just about to head off for the one sleep to go! Whoo Who!... read more

So I'm clean and smelling quite pleasant after many months of dust collecting. Her was decidedly disrespectful with her use of the vacuum cleaner, the nail brush and the hair drier. Him thinks I look like a new bear! They are pretty disorganised and I'm thinking they need to get their act into gear pretty soon or else I'll be the only one ready to adventure next Monday morning. Do hope they pay more attention to caring for me this time, but despite feeling lost and forlorn occasionally, I have had some pretty exciting times! Do hope you enjoy my travels! It was good to be back in Boonah, where we stayed with the Munnings family. Each day we drove to Maroon which took half an hour and we visited mum’s work from four years ago (MOEC). I did the NAPLAN test at my old school - Maroon State School. There were some students there that I remembered from four years ago although there are only 9 students now. Ash, dad and I did the Lower Portals walk and saw a water monitor while mum walked up Mt Barney with Peter Beames. Ash and I went to the Boonah skate park every day and Ash did a funny stack trying to clear the fun box. We enjoyed hanging out with Patrick and Clare.... read more
