Heylo! So this past week not much occured. just lots of studying and taking of exams, which i survived. lol. this weekend was really really great though. On thursday night a bunch of us watched The Holiday and then later on watched Beauty and the Beast. It was a good night. =) Then friday night we had craft night.. and we each did our own aboriginal style dot painting which was fun. After that watched Rabbit Proof Fence which is a movie about a true story of one of the Stolen Generation. It was good. Sad. Crazy. Yesterday we did another tree planting with TREAT. It had been raining so much all week that most of the pre-dug holes were full of water which was really annoying. I hope the trees live that we planted. I left there quite muddy and tired. But it was exciting cause the sun was out all day, for basically the first time in a week. woohoo! Then that evening we went into a nearby town called Malanda and I saw a double feature in Australia's oldest continuously running movie theater. It was a really neat theater. the chairs are kinda like those convertable beach chairs.. sort of. You can bring in food and pillows and blankets and stuff. So yeah I saw P.S. I Love You and then American Gangster. Surprisingly, I really loved P.S. I Love You. Like I thought it was really good. I enjoyed it more than American Gangster actually. Which was a good movie as well. Just I guess I didn't find it that fabulous. Anyway it was a fun night. Then today I got up earlier to go with a group of people to Lake Barrine again. They all ran but I just sat and wrote in my journal and enjoyed the view. It was nice. mid-morning we headed out and went to the Mareeba Coffee works which is about an hour away. Um ya'll know I dont really care about coffee so it wasnt that exciting for me. But I did have some AMAZING cookies and cream cheesecake that i shared with 2 other people. that was wonderful. We then went to Granite Gorge which is a type of national park I guess. It was AMAZING! I loved it so much. You can get food to feed the wallabys and so we did that. It was insane! First off, the wallabys are everywhere, jumping up and down these steep rock faces like its no big deal. Then, they come right up to you. Eat out of your hand. Actually put their paws up on your hand. A few of them actually got in peoples' laps. There were many pictures taken so hopefully I'll try and get some up soon. It was just awesome. Climbing around on the rocks was also great. You could see for miles. I also just chilled by this creek for a bit. Some people went and swam but I chose not to. Just kinda relaxed. It was great. Only stupid thing on my part was that it was cloudy and rainy in the morning so i didnt have sunscreen on and the sun actually was out while at granite gorge. So yeah.. i'm a bit lobster-esque now. ah well. This is the first time so I guess I can't complain. All-in-all it was another great sunday in australia. I am still loving it here. Obviously. Hope you all are well! I'll try and write or at least add some pictures again soon. =)
