Hi folks time for another blog!! leaving Alice and heading ever northwards we stayed just 1 night at Wauchope, just 10 k south of the funny rocks known as The devils Marbles, It’s just a pub/ hotel with a campsite and petrol station, the site is grassy and flat, it’s quiet and best of all the pub is good and the people very friendly. The Devils Marbles are like humongous pebbles dumped in the middle of the desert, they are worn round and piled up on each other, quite a sight, but then so many things are in this amazing country!! Amongst many things it’s the geology of the country that seems so interesting! We have a peaceful night and are off early next morning, just calling in again at the Marbles, we’ve got 800 k ... read more

We left Tenant Creek YHA at 10am this morning and after stopping to purchase a full tank of fuel began the 505km drive south to Alice Springs. May 20, Wednesday. Had breakfast with a fantastic backdrop of Glen Helen Gorge. Took my time leaving, which give me time to charge the video battery. Finally got myself together and headed another 20 kilometres west to Redbank Gorge. A fairly good dirt road until the turn off then it got rough. Another gorge with some interesting rock formations. It was mid-day by time I got back to Alice Springs. Only just making it before running out of petrol. I did run out of clean cloths and was down to my last pair of shorts. Every thing is now being washed. Petrol and temperature gauge working again. Unfortunately the 35mm camera is still not working. Weather overcast but not cold. May 21, Thursday. Started heading out of town then decided I needed a new 35mm camera. ... read more
