We set off on Sunday heading towards a grey horizon. Had some rain along the way but not enough to bother us. We had a fairly long day driving which saw us camping on the roadside rest stop just before Bon Bon. This was a great place if your self sufficient as there is no water or toilets. We had the place to ourselves. We certainly were like the grey nomads and in bed by 8.30pm. Woke on Monday morning to clearing skies and a million flies!! Headed for the border of SA/NT and as we passed Bon Bon rest stop it was packed with caravans. Drove all day and pulled into the border rest stop about 4pm but again it was full so we headed into Kulgera and paid $15 for unpowered site. Tuesday was a short driving day and saw us head into Alice Springs at 11 am staying at the top tourist caravan park. Weather is clear here and 31 degrees so its shorts, thongs and a cold drink under the awning of the van. One of us has a head cold now..not having had one for about 8 years. Murphy's Law. Both of us can't believe how many vans are heading south, which is good for us going north.
