After a night of wandering animal noises we awoke to another glorious day and got ready for the relatively short drive to Tibooburra. We all fuelled up and then headed up the road to The Family Hotel where a beer or two was consumed by most whereas I had an iced coffee and adjusted my tyres. I must be going soft.

From there we headed down toward White Cliff where Mad Max was filmed, or so I am led to believe. The drive was mostly uneventful although we did see a lot more animals including kangaroos, massive eagles, emus and wild goats. We saw a few kids that would have been beautiful for dinner but we have no gats! Plus it appears that the farmers up here herd them up and sell them. We also passed a corner with the ‘Tool Tree’. Weird.

Tonight we are camped in a creek bed around 15km from White Cliff. Paddy worked out that it would be easier and quicker to drive from here to Canberra rather than go through Menindee so we are heading off in the morning. It is around 885km to home so we may not make it in one day but we’ll see how we go. I might do one more blog entry when I get back to sum up the trip but basically it has been awesome!
