2 more sleeps then we hit the road!! The caravan is mostly packed just a few last minute food items to load up and the Land Cruiser just needs a bit of a clean up before packing the last few items in it. The weather forecast for the trip from home to Melbourne looks a bit on the ordinary side however as this is mainly just a point A to point B part of the journey we won't be doing any sightseeing so not too concerned about the weather. We haven't got the weather forecast for the ferry trip from Melbourne to Devonport yet so will need to wait till tomorrow for the 7 day forecast. During our travels around Tasmania we will be staying at a combination of freecamps, National Parks, farm stays, community donation ... read more

This will be our first major caravan trip. We had planned a 4 month trip to Western Australia from July 2021 however Covid lockdowns and border closures forced us to postpone this trip to hopefully July 2022. This trip to Tasmania will be around 7 weeks from February to early April. We have been told that this will be more than enough time to cover the whole state as we will not be doing any major bushwalks which can add many days/weeks to any Tassie holiday. In order to get a booking for our Landcruiser and caravan we had to book 3 months in advance, February to June is considered an ideal time to visit Tassie and due to limited availability of car spaces on the Melbourne to Devonport ferry (Spirit of Tasmania) these get booked ... read more

We drove up a highway that went right into the middle of the mountains, and trekked through a forest to see a giant waterfall. I loved climbing on the rocks; Mummy said the views were amazing but I'm not too fussed with views. I tried to count the trees though, and got to 27 then got bored. We also found 2 cable cars in ... read more

Well we have had a busy week. Granny and John Movie came to see us in Mylestom. It was great to see them. We really missed them. We went fishing and swimming in the rock pools, Tabitinka (indoor kids play centre), and the bowls club for dinner. They helped us pack up and we headed for Umina. It took a long time to get there. 6 hours (I think dad took the wrong exit.) We stayed at the big 4 caravan park. It was PACKED!!! They had all these kids activities to do like painting statues, sand painting, kids trivia, treasure hunt and they had a great pool with a slide in it. It was really fun, especially going down backwards on your stomach. Granny took me to bingo. She had to show me how to ... read more
