The observant among you will notice that the photos are not of iconic New Zealand landmarks!
We are now both well, but had both been ill on the flight so ended up with an unexpected stop in Sydney to recover. A HUGE thank you to Joanne Cowdery (travel counsellors.co.uk/Joanne.Cowdery) who has been amazing at re organising flights and doing battle with airlines on our behalf!
After some much needed sleep and rehyduration we managed a trip to Sydney Harbour for a few hours yesterday (30th). It was amazing to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House ... landmarks we never thought we would see!
So we are currently sat in the Departures lounge at Sydney airport for our rearranged flight to Christchurch. Hoping to have a few hours seeing Christchurch later today, we were last there in 2009 before the earthquake.
We pick up the campervan tomorrow for our road trip ... which is where I suspect the more humorous element of our adventure will begin! Watch this space!
