The countdown is over!

Well - that's it! The Bake Off Final is over ... and I have to admit to being just a bit disappointed with the result. I had high hopes for the engineer Andrew - but alas Candice and her many vivid lipsticks and pouting style won on the day.

So after carefully planning our departure date around the Bake Off Final (?!) and many weeks of waiting, annoying anyone and everyone with our countdown - its time to leave! We fly this evening via Dubai and Sydney for short re-fuelling stops (for both us and the aircraft!) ... arriving in Christchurch on Saturday afternoon.

All that stands between here and there are the infamous security checks.... as mother seems to be a human magnet for the alarm systems I think I will walk 20 paces behind (or in front) and abdicate responsibility while she stands hopefully waiting for the handsome security guard! Parents never stop embarrassing their children do they!
