So, we landed in Oz ok. We're staying in a great little hotel in the Rocks, great location. The journey down under was alright, surprisingly. We didn't manage to get much sleep on the plane, but we did manage to get emergency exit seats for the first flight - success!

We landed early Sunday morning, and cousin Christine picked us up, and then took us back to Jane's (her daughter), where we met Dave (her son), Kev (son-in-law), and little Alice (granddaughter). Despite the jetlag, we had a really good day. We went over to Woolwich harbour, where we had our first glimpse of the bridge, and a great Aussie brekkie. Later we saw the bridge and opera house close up, feeling slightly bemused at actually being in Sydney finally.

Yesterday we caught the ferry over the Manly, where we saw surfers! Bit like a cold and windy home and away! Who needs Melbourne... We headed out for the Manly walk to The Spit, which was great. Our first time in the bush! The views were something else, unfortunately my camera battery died so I couldn't take any photos to share - but trust me, it was fantastic. So good I managed to miss my footing as I was looking at yet another view and ended up on my back in the bush. Classy! We didn't see any scary spiders or snakes, but loads of spiders webs. Eugh.

That's all for now. We're off to stay in a much cheaper youth hostel, which should help the money situation, then off to an aquarium, wahhey!

Until the next installment,

Helen and Susan xxxx

COOL!
Wow! It looks so good there. I'll pass this on to Daddy next time we speak. I think Natasha has finally stopped crying and the 2nd gameboy turned up...relief...on both counts!! The photos look amazing. I'm glad you arrived safely and haven't yet been poisoned by any scary insects... Looking forward to the next update. Must get back to work now though :( xxxxxxxxxxx
