Back to Sydney - drop off van

Some very colourful and tame parakeets joined us while we packed up our van, one of which perched on my head. We headed back up to Sydney. We found Botany Bay - parts of which are disappointingly industrial. Whilst at the car wash prior to dropping off the van there was a tremendous storm which we later learnt caused flooding in parts of Southern Sydney. We caught the train from the van depot back into town getting used again to the huge weight of our rucksacks after the luxury of the van. We checked into a cheap and cheerful backpackers lodge in Kings Cross.
