Hello all
Just when you thought you were havung a rest from me here I am again. It was time to leave my new friends Colleen and Peter so big hugs all round and hope to see them in the UK next year.
I had a very good drive from Albany to Perth last Wednesday- an easy 450 km ...and for the first 200 km I probably only saw 10 cars if that... and it is a good road with passing lanes at intervals which is good when you get behind a road trian which is a big truck pulling 2 carriages behind it - they can be alomost 40 m long. A stop at Kojanup to see a very nice exhibition with some aboriginal stories and have a coffee was a good break in the journey. And so with the help of maps I found my way back to Anna and Bill in Perth - where I had started off a month before. They were kind enough to let me stay again for my last night in WA. Dropped the car off - I had done 1600 km - and then I was on a flight right across Australia to
Sydney. My old friends Angela and Ed met me and here I am staying with them for a few days before I move further up the coast of NSW.
It has been a bit grey and rainy in Sydney lately but yesterday blessed with a fab sunny day Angela and I walked from Bondi Beach to Bronte beach...I had done this lovely walkwith Suzanne 3 years ago. But this time the difference was that for the whole stretch of coastline (4km) there was a sculpture exhibition...see these fotos. Some were moving in the wind - and so cleverly designed....others were carefully placed under trees and on rocks , becoming part of the natural landscape. This exhib had run every year for 10 yrs and is obviously a great draw as there were crowds of people doing the walk enjoying the art.
Later in the evening we went out to Randwick area of Sydney - lots of cafes + restos and a a very popular cinema - so it was to a very nice Italian resto we went. Lots of places here do BYO wine - so its always a trip to the booze shop first to choose a wine. It would
be nice if we had that in UK - instead of restos ripping you off with charging £20for a bottle you can buy in Tesco for £3.99.
Its a bit of a grey day again today - so a bit of houskeeping for me ( tidy the suitcases!!!) and tomorrow I get my bus to go to visit Michael's cousin Jenny in Forster. Jenny and I did a little road trip inNSW on my last visit here and we get on so well - she is a lovely lady - so I am looking foward to meeting up with her again.
Hope you like the photos.
Much love - miss you all. Hope you remembered to turn your clocks back - in the UK you are now 10 hours behind me.
