Well where to start? life as city workers is rather demanding and time consuming, charlotte and fleur however have this impressive knack of harrassing strangers in the street where as i am quite frankly SHITE! anyhow for some bizzare reason we are being 'promoted' to leaders next week so that we can earn more money and our team manager is taking us on an all expences paid road trip! score! went out with our new colleagues on friday, which ended up the three of us and three hot bosses! one of which the minted owner of the company who is incredibly hot we have decided a younger version of robin williams! even more exciting today we visited Palm beach which is the beach where home and away is set!! woohoo, it was very pretty and very ... read more

We got off to a slow start today, enjoying a bit of a sleep in. We got out of the house at 9:30 and went to Featherdale Wildlife Park. They only have animals native to Australia there, so it was a good walk around. Penny got to touch a kangaroo and a koala bear. They had interactive caged areas, so there were animals walking all over the place. There was a sign up there, "don't feel sorry for me, being caged up here, I have all my meals and a place to hop, I don't have to worry about hunters or cars..." I had a bit of a snicker. After an couple hours, we checked out a mall for a few hours while Judy and Ray checked on a few things in another part of the ... read more

Wednesday 9th So, my last full day in Australia! Really looking forward to New Zealand tomorrow now, but feel like I haven't finished with Australia (not saying anyone does, but feel like am going to be back at some stage!l). This is a horribly early start - am collected by the shuttle bus 3.55am, and the electrical storm is still going... Make it to the airport in more than enough time, easy through security, then try and keep myself awake... And then see the flight has been delayed for 40 minutes.... Flight takes off at revised time - quite bumpy for the first hour - still lots of rain around, but a safe and easy flight. For some reason the TV works too (only supposed to if you pay for it) - so I channel flick ... read more

Weekend in Palm Beach Esther and I had decided to take a weekend break to Palm beach made famous as Summer Bay in Home and Away. Given my last trip in the Mini I really wanted something convertible and a little special. I got it in the TT….. what a dream machine!!! We had it for the weekend although Friday night it lay dormant in the bear cave. Up early Saturday morning we headed over the bridge to the northern beaches - first stop Fresh water beach ,a couple up from Manly, for breakfast. Freshwater is a really nice beach but it doesn’t really have the café ambience that we are used to in the Eastern beaches still very nice to see yet another Sydney beach. Just taking the day as it came we drove ... read more

We arrive in Sydney at 6:55am. Very excited now. Just want to see everyone, and to start hitting the Aussie roads. No problems going through passport control, etc., but stopped off at Downtown Duty Free to get Lorraine’s (Paula and Bryan’s next door neighbour) her brandy and menthol cigs. I considered that my good deed for the day. I tried to phone Bryan’s and Eileen’s numbers to let them know I’d arrived a little earlier than thought, but my phone wouldn’t work. I waited for about half-hour and made my way to the Avis desk. Just as I did, they came through the entrance. I said my ‘hellos’ then got the hire car sorted out. I got a free upgrade to a Holden (Vauxhall in England!) Astra. With a full tank of petrol, Damon came with ... read more

Wake up this cool Spring morning at about 10.00am. I had a great sleep and felt much better. The only disturbance I had was when the clock/radio they have in there went off at midnight! First things first, I had a refreshing shower, which did make me feel much better and relaxed. I read the local newspapers, which had been delivered: the Manly Daily, Sydney Morning Herald and Daily Telegraph. Once Damon woke up we went, with Bryan, for a short walk. At the back of Bryan's place is Freshwater School, a large secondary school, so we walked across the school field and then along a creek, and down to Curl Curl Beach. This was where both Damon and Danielle were lifeguards when they were younger. On starting the walk I noticed the pesky flies. I ... read more
