G'Day! News so far, we have left Cronulla and are now based in Sydney for Christmas and New Year. Cronulla was lovely. It is such a pretty beach town. It was really lovely just walking down to the beach and going for a swim. We didn't really do much more in Cronulla. We went out on one night (I might put up some photos on the old Facebook) and I did my walk, and it took a while. I have added some pics to this blog of my walk. So the walk...I was basically walking for 8 hours on my own - no joke. At one point I really thought I was going to have to be rescued. The walk started by walking along the beach to the far end. It really didn't look that far, ... read more

First off... sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I'm not staying at Uncle Dan's anymore so internet access is few and far between. Quite a lot has happened since I last blogged. Biggest news is the girls arrived safe and sound on December 1st. I met them at the airport, but was a little late (my own fault, didn't get home till 5am the night before!). The weather when they arrived was horrible. It rained non-stop for about 4 days, at least I got use out of my rain mac. The girls had a little trouble finding some where to stay, but it worked out in the end. It was so nice having them here. We were all staying around the Kings Cross area in Sydney. I was staying in the Originals hostel which was ... read more

So we left St Leoanrds weighed down with much more stuff that it seemed we came with, but at least we are on the way to pick up the van so we wont have to be carrying it around anymore as there is loads of room for it in the car. We arrived to pick it up around lunchtime but by the time we had gone over to register it in our name and done some washing it was 6 o'clock before we even set off out of Sydney on our way to Cronulla which the bloke who sold us the van said there was a campsite at. It was only a half hour drive so we figured we would have time to go and get sheets and pillows when we arrived. Well it didnt take ... read more

21st December 2008 - ARRIVAL IN CRONULLA We arrived in Cronulla at around 4pm-ish. We were both starving so we went on the hunt to find a nice cafe to indulge in the paninni that we didn't manage to find in Wollongong. Most places had stopped serving food at 3pm but we did manage to find a little deli and I settled for a tuna salad sandwich...tasted so good!! A world away from packet ham that the van had to offer!!! I followed it with an ice cream (Definitely becoming addicted) from the most amazing ice creamary ever and we sat on the hill to eat and chill out whilst watching the sea. Loads of groups out and families drinking and eating on the grass. Nice atmosphere!!! After a while we headed back to the van...or ... read more

21/12/08 = A mild hangover and an arrival in Cronulla Woke up at 6:15 for same reason as usual and caught end of the sunrise over the sea. Was too sleepy to appreciate it and crawled straight back into bed. Woke up a few more times, but only properly got up at 10am, when van got so unbelievably hot that could feel my insides cooking. Resisted for a while, but then got up, had a my museli breakfast (not quite the same as the bacon sandwich I would usually have after drinking) and walked over road to beach. Was a beautiful sunny day with not a cloud in sky :). Beach was really full because was a Sunday, but had a realy nice feel to it. Perfect sunbathing conditions because was a lovely breeze again. Such ... read more

Today is the 24th July, and with only 11 days to go before I leave, I feel this has come on me so quick. Long time coming with a rollercoaster ride to this date. Being away will be a grounding time, one that will change me I think as I feel I am too soft to too many things. I need this to harden me up a little and to focus on what life is all about. Carpe Diem.. a notable quote. One that I will embrace every day I am away. ... read more

This morning I cooked breakfast for everyone and we then went to the beach, whilst Eleanor and Mummy looked at the shops I went out for a surf. We then had lunch at a Thai restaurant and visited the Camelia Gardens in the nearby suburb of Caringbah. Mummy is enjoying her stay here especially eating salad, stone fruits and fresh vegetables. I cooked a barbeque last night and Mummy made Palabok, Eleanor assembled a simple salad. Here's some photos.... read more

On Friday the 16th of November we had a party for Justine at the Montien Tong Thai restaurant in Cronulla. There were 51 guests comprising of Justine's school friends, family and family friends. The food was great, four entrees followed by four main dishes and rice. Eleanor bought a very nice chocolate mud cake and pavalova though many of us were so full from the main course that we couldn't fit much desert in. The party finished up at around 10.30pm, Justine went to a local night club - Fusions that is near the restaurant with her friends whilst Eleanor and I went and had a coffee with some of our friends at Gloria Jeans. Thanks to everyone for their presents especially to those who couldn't join us on the night.... read more
