So, we're off to Europe in 6 weeks. I'm starting this blog without family knowledge just yet. We've booked flights from Sydney to Paris through Rosalie at Amica Travel in Wahroonga. Our other connections we booked ourselves over the net. Best tip to date - we booked a Eurostar trip from Paris to London from the French web site rather than English web site as it was significantly cheaper for the same train. Either of these was also cheaper than the Australian sites we found. the kids are very sad that they'll miss 5 weeks of school (ha!) but I've promised I'll take some homework for them to do anyway.... Although it was bloody rainy today Josh and me went to Fitzroy Falls in the Blue Mountains, nearly 50 km far away from Wollongong. When we came to one of the lookouts for the first time we actually didn't see anything bacause the clouds were hanging so low that you thought you were dead and facing the cliché of heaven's entrance - there was literally nothing to see but a shiny, milky wall. After half an hour most of them were blown out of there and when we came back it was amazing to see the clouds being sucked out of the valley over the rim of the mountainrange. At the north end of Morton National Park, and on the road from Canberra to the coast, lies the village of Bundanoon. It's famous for the annual April celebration of its Scottish heritage, no doubt a time of calm and considered reflection to compliment the activities at the nearby Buddhist monastery. However my reasons for visiting were for what promised to be a guaranteed glow worm sighting, and a potential wombat encounter. I was the sole resident of the hostel, and one of just 2 diners in the Chinese restaurant that was 1 of just 2 eating establishments in the village. The waitress was about 7 years old.
