Today we spent a good part of the day in the ghost town called Silverton. They say ghost town but really 40 people live there and run tourist businesses in the town. The pub was interesting to look at, it has been used in many movies (Mad Max, Town like Alice, Razorback etc) and lots of tv commercials (mostly beer ads). Inside the pub they have lots of memorabilia from the movies etc, and outside is a replica of the black xb V8 hard top car that was in Mad Max movies. There was the old gaol which is now a museum, and a quite a few churches. In the street were 2 donkeys, apparently wild ones but the male donkey kept following people around to get patted.
We went to the Mundi Mundi look out, which looks out over the Mundi Mundi plains and WOW what an awesome view. It was flat for as far as the eyes could see, some say you can see the curviture of the earth, but I don't think my eyes are good enough to see that lol. I will upload some pictures soon.

This afternoon we did the touristy thing around Broken Hill,

we went to a silver and arts place and saw a picture called "The Big Picture" it is 12 metres high and 100 metres long, its a landscape featuring lots of the different views around the area. We then drove up ontop of the main mine in the centre of town and took some pics.

Now its time for a cuppa to warm up, its only been 12 degrees today. Tomorrow we will head south to Mildura.

Oh I forgot to add something yesterday, when we were at Lightening Ridge Nathan went for a dip in the Thermal pools which are a constant 41 degrees. We arrived and the pools were full of elderly people all sitting quietly chatting amongst themselves. Nathan walks over and dives head first under the water, he didn't cause too much of a splash but still everyone looked. After he got out and we were leaving he then decides to read the rules on the big board:
1. No diving
2. Do not put head under the water
Nathan broke both rules lol, no wonder everyone looked at him.
