Hi travel followers. Again another two weeks have passed and as usual we have been on the move ever so slowly up the NSW coast and are now at Alstonville. (between Ballina and Lismore) From Newcastle we moved on to Halliday's Point where a very good friend (Helen) manages the wonderful Beachfront Holiday Park. We had a great couple of days catching up and visiting all the little surrounding towns like Forster etc. Then it was on to Nambucca Heads and the White Albatross Holiday Park where we have stopped a couple of times before because we just love the spot. After a few days we moved on to Yamba and the Calypso Holiday park to visit another friend (Leanne and Mat) for a few days. Yamba is a great little spot and it was great ... read more

22nd Dec 2013. Yesterday the Dish Lickers (greyhounds) doing trials where we were staying and to be honest I have never been that close up to them racing before. Do they move or what? Almost impossible to get a good photo, but I have attached the best one of a few that I took. After breakfast we packed up and hit the road early for Alstonville to avoid as much as possible the school holiday traffic on the Highway. We are staying at the Showgrounds with my brother Ray and Christine for a week or so. It is a great spot where we can park and set up the van in a massive undercover shed. (also see photo's). Hello ! And happy Earth day :-) It's been over three months since I landed in Australia, and you may be wondering how far I've gotten in that time... Well, prepare to be disappointed ! In those three months, I spent a total of 3 days on my bike, and covered the (not so) impressive distance of 250 kilometers ! And you'll also have noticed that I've been more or less off the radar during this time (a few photos posted on Facebook, but no blog updates...). So, what have I been up to ? Well... I've been WWOOFing. For most of that time at least. WWOOF is a world wide organisation linking itinerant workers (ie. me) to organic farms and small properties who need a few extra pairs of hands.
