The United States of America is currently ranked as the third best nation in the world by the Human Development Reporters. However, many times, people living in developed countries, like America, fail to acknowledge as to why other countries are still in the process of developing. Egypt, for instance, is currently the 112th country- also ranked by the HDR. Many times, a huge factor that determines whether a country is developed or developing is the life expectancy at birth, but this is not always the case. Egypt has a life expectancy at 73.5 years, where as America has a life expectancy at 78.7 years. One can see, these two countries have arguably similar life expectancies. Nevertheless, when going more in depth into the education stem, the difference in the quantity grows. In Egypt, children are expected to attend school for about 12.1 years and adults have about 6.4 years of schooling. When this country is compared to America's typical schooling, the difference is absurd! Children in America are expected to attend school for 16.8 years where as adults usually attend school for 13.3 years! Schooling, as shown, is definitely an area where the number difference is high. Nonetheless, Egypt's average income is about 5,401 where the United State's average income is as high as 43,480! One can see, a developing country has more aspects to determine its true crisis, in which is another reason why the process is so complex for a country to be considered developed.
