How has the Columbian Exchange & Triangle Trade affected current day foods & culture?




Peanut Butter Brittle

1. What are the origins of this recipe?

My family learned this from other people, and we kind of made it into our style. We use a different type of sugar than regular sugar.

2. Does your family in someway identify with this recipe? Why or why not?

Yes, we eat peanut butter brittle as treats whenever my grandma has fun time making them. 😊

3. Do you think people should have access to a variety of foods? Why or why not?

Yes! Trying a variety of foods lets you try new things! It also lets people learn more about other cultures.

4. In general, do you think food is an important aspect of one’s culture? Explain.

Food is an important aspect of one's culture because it shows what the people of the culture like and what is part of their cuisine (ie. ingredient and cooking techiniques). Also, food can be symbols for celebrations and cultural identity.
