One of the many feasts enjoyed at Jeanies house. Our time at Jeanies house in Boulder has been absolutely wonderful. The first weekend we were up here Pierce and Megan came up Friday night and we cooked a big dinner, and Saturday morning drove out to the small town of Nederland back in the mountains. There was somewhere between 6 and 8 inches of snow on the ground when we woke up that morning and the drive through the mountain passes was breathtaking. During the week we spent most of our time relaxing at the house and enjoying the scenery and animals of Boulder. There is a family of deer that live at the bottom of the mountain and we saw them every time we drove to town. They are so used to people and cars that they walk right by you; literally so close you can almost reach out and touch them! We also saw a fox who was just as fearless. He followed us down the road for a block and when we pulled over to watch him he sat down by the car and stared at us for a while.
In the middle of the week we went into Denver and met up with my brother

Enjoying vacation! :) and Tony, a close family friend and the man my brother is named after, for drinks and dinner at The Bull & Bush (where my dad was playing jazz piano when he met my mom). We stayed in Denver that night and came back up to Boulder to do some shopping and trip planning the next day. Friday evening my cousin Kelsey, her boyfriend Billy, and Jeanie all flew into Denver airport. After returning Jeanies car to her we went to Denver and had a fun night out with Pierce, Megan, Kelsey, and Billy. The next day we drove up north to Fort Collins to go the The New Belgian Brewery. It was a beautiful drive through the plains with a striking view of the mountains to the west. We spent most of the day in Fort Collins, and then headed to Boulder to rendezvous at Jeanies house. But on the way there we hit traffic, so we brought out the map and took a detour through the country. It was absolutely beautiful! We pulled over next to a field of dry corn that was glowing golden in the sunlight to take pictures and watch the sunset behind the mountains.

The snow we got on the deck at Jeanies. That night at Jeanies we had a big dinner, played poker, and watched the Colorado football game.
The next day, everyone was up early to head into Boulder. We took Kelsey and Billy to Pearl St. and ate brunch at Boulder Cafe. After a few hours of browsing vendors and watching street performers, we decided to head separate ways. Pierce took Kelsey and Billy back to Denver while Joel and I headed back to the house. There, we repacked the van and made plans for Yellowstone, our next stop!

While watching live feed of the Balloon Boy found myself looking for your van. Didn't see you or the balloon boy. Pictures of the deer made my mouth water, horse .. . . . not so much. Kathy wants to know if you are flossing. Looking forward to next round. With Love Brad and Kathy.
