Magnolia blossom prior to full opening
Home at Last. We left Hammond, LA at about 7:30 this AM and arrived at our house about 12:30 - - short day! The trailer is unloaded, cleaned out and put away. Took a few pictures of magnolia blossoms at a rest area in Alabama. A fellow from Washington State came by while I was taking pictures and commented that he had never seen magnolia blossoms. I asked if he had ever smelled magnolia blossoms and he said no. So I pulled one down close for him to take a whiff. He said he had always thought that they had no odor but today he thought that they smelled a little like jasmine. He was pretty excited over that little tidbit.

This is the end of the blogging for this trip. Will pick it up on our next trip (up to Middlebury, Vermont, West Point, NY, and who knows where else on the way home). Next big trip just might be a trip up the Alaska Highway - - we shall see. Kerry says that I am in charge of planning that one. 'Till then: au revoir!
