After a breakfast in the hotel, we stopped at a supermarket to refill our fridge. Peter was driving and we arrived at Hoover Dam around noon.
The Boss in Lausanne requested some updates on the work being done so Peter and Luc had to do some science in the back of the RV, meaning Ivica was again behind the wheel to get us to Grand Canyon. One stop in the middle of nowhere to quickly eat a home-made salad inside the RV. After that it was Luc's turn to drive, he already sat behind the wheel, everybody was ready to go, when he realized he is wearing flip-flops. Peter did not want to waste time waiting for Luc to get a proper footwear because we were chasing the Sun to catch the sunset above Grand Canyon. We just barely managed to get to the rim when the last sun rays were hiting the top of the canyon.
">Grand Canyon approach using a shitty LG G2 camera. Still, movies give a better impression of the size of the rift.
After parking the RV we set to eat the dinner on the bench beside the parking place.
After dinner Luc, Peter and Margie decided to take advantage of the (almost) full Moon and take some night photos of the Canyon.
There were small fires burning in the woods on the northern rim.
Astrology time: except for the Moon, one could see Jupiter (a small dot on the right)...
...and Mars (a small dot on the left) ...
....and even Saturn hiding behind the Moon with a help of a useful app.
