With only one more day in Yellowstone we decided we better head up to the upper western part of the park. Mammoth Hot Springs was simply remarkable and the pictures will speak for themselves. After Mammoth Hot Springs we went out the north entrance and into Gardner, Montana for lunch. Coming back into the park was neat because of the famous archway. We headed back down south again hoping to see some kind of wildlife besides buffalo. Finally along side the road were a huge herd of elk. When we stopped at the Mammoth Springs visitor center they had said there was a herd in the area. Sure enough there they were hanging out along the road. When we went back into Mammoth Springs there were even elk in town wondering around. Further down the road was Norris Geyser Basin. As you can see from the pictures it was a large grouping of varying sizes of geysers. Some were dormant while other were spewing steam and water everywhere. Interesting colors here, too.
