Edit Blog Post
Yeh so its been a while since my last update and this is down to two things, im a lazy twat and secondly that iv just been doin standard uni stuff that all you back home are doin, lectures, drinkin, footy and so on so i didnt think that there was anythin worth writin home about, but now.......oh now were goin.
Went to chicago yday, slightly later than expected however, we were meant to get the 7 o clock bus there but all 3 of us overslept, despite decidin to stay in the night before, which now seems like a waste of night, but i shall make up for it next weekend im sure, the reasons for this u will find out in good time, patience is a virtue, despite what that scottish dick on that mobile phone advert tells you, one rule, dont trust sweaty socks. Anyway.............. so we left at ten and got to chicago at about 2, and the first thing we did was went to the sears tower, its called the willis tower now and this was confusing for about 30 seconds until we realised theyd changed the name, genius. Lots of queuing insued, probs for
a total of about 2 or so hours, but they're clever you see, they break the queue down into different rooms, so u dont realise your queuin for so long (yeah right), but we really wanted to see the view and it was only 15 green pieces of paper (dollars) so we battled thru the pain of queuin. To help you fight boredom when you queue they provide you with insightful little facts about the buliding, my favourite was that the sears tower was built in 3 years which is amazing considering that it took the egyptians 20 years to build the great pyramid...................erm hold on a second there you little toot ur own trumpet statement writer......the great pyramid was built ages b.c the tower in the 70's, im sure if the egyptians had the advantage of hydraulics then they might have put it up in a couple of days....dick. anyway that amused me. The view from the top of the tower is amazin and you should definitely check out my photos cos theyre mint, and theyres a lot. The glass thing when u can step out makes ur knees shake like jelly, and u know what my shakes are
like at the best of times.... i was like elvis presley when i first stepped out.
After the tower we took a boat ride to navy pier and then went to millenium park and saw all the cool sculptures, thats where obama did his inaugaration speech and u can see why cos its a pretty amazin place, i blooody loved chicago and defenitely wanna go again soon,
Just as a quick side note i thought id tell you about the tramps (hobo's for my friends tryin to learn a bit of american culture off these blogs) that are on the main street near where i live. There hilarous, got a lot more to them than the guys who hang around one stop in leeds, (for those of you that dont know about this i shall explain..basically some chav comes up to you and tells you your a good lookin lad and asks for 20p, although it is an ego boost to be told your good lookin by someone who looks like theyv just finished fightin with an army consisitin of drainpipes, spades and rottweilers, the compulsion to hand over 20p just isnt overwhelmin.) So the guy who lives
near my buildin has a pair of bongos (cue the obvious nice tits joke) and just bangs them all day whilst singin money, money, money....money, you know the tune. While occasionally breaks into a verse, consistin of thank the lord for young women, thank the lord im too old for young women. There is also another guy who asks for a quarter for a brother, (25cents to you and me), now im not bein funny this guy defenitely isnt my brother, he is african american, and unless my mum had a thing with nina simmone in the 60's he's probably a bit too old and too well... black to be my brother. But i do like how he's tryin to pull on family ties to coerce a bit of change from a sibling. There is also a guy who is about 70 with a big gandalf the grey beard who plays the tin whistle, not so strange u say...true, but he wears a bright orange velvet tracksuit and sits on a wall with his knees crossed, i will try and take a picture if i can.
But how are you gonna make up for not goin out on friday
sinnott? (remember from before.....first paragraph...you know cos of chicago..... yeah.) oh yeh im goin to visit luke in penn state...yeaaaaahh daaaaaaah
Peace out homies, hope everythings all billion dollar gravy back home (maybe that guy is my brother if i can speak like this)
Love you all
Sinnott
