This organization that I researched is called a Wider Circle. This organization was started in Washington by a man named Mark Bergel. It was all inspired by a certain woman's story of her living in poverty in Washington D.C with her two young daughters. The purpose of the whole organization is to help disadvantaged families that are living in poverty and have houses in bad condition or houses at all. He witnessed most of Washington's 18% of poverty firsthand while volunteering to do work like he does in his organization now. They would give the poorer families household items like furniture, groceries, etc. Bergel did this for about 13 years. He stated this would give the families "a time to catch their breath and start something new with their life". After this was done in Washington, it was starting to spread a little bit more just because of how great the idea was for an organization and how much it could impact peoples' lives. Since this happened in the United States, it is s more effective in the United States than any other country; however, it could easily be spread throughout the world because it's such a great idea and can help many other families in need. Yes I think that this organization is effective and making progress as it is because as of 2001, 125,000 people were givrn furniture, food, houses, and huge improvements to get back on their feet and do things by themselves. That is a very significant number of people to have brought into the organization, so that
