So at the beginning of the week I was really laid back about sightseeing and I was saying I've got the whole week I've got plenty of time and I was bumbling along in a very chilled out way and then it got to Sunday my last day here and I hadn't completed all the things I wanted to do or see so I tried to cram in everything but there are some things I didn't get to do but that just gives me an excuse to come back and visit Washington DC again!! woo! I want to say a big thank you to Carrie and Matt for putting up with me for this week and sorry for not spending much time with you guys I was a proper Tourist this week!! Gonna miss you lots Carrie and of course little Millie as she was so adorable remember her first wave was at me! lol One thing I'm not gonna miss are the random people trying to get my number forgot to say yesterday that this guy hounded me for my number and I feel so bad when a guy asks for my number I don't wanna say no so I
gave him my old phone number saying it won't work till I'm back home, it's one I never use I don't know why I just didn't make one up anyway he was like you should call me after you've been in the museum and we can hang out I was like but my phone doesn't work out here and he said you could use a payphone and he tried giving me his number but i said i didn't have a pen and paper and so he went and found a pen and wrote it on my water bottle this guy must have been desperate! Anyway needless to say I didn't phone him lol! I seriously think its my accent that attracts them!
Back to my last day in the city i started off by looking round the American Indian Museum which was four floors tall and I walked up the stairs to each floor it was quite a trek but worth it there were some amazing dresses and artwork and information on the Native Americans on each floor then when I got out in the park opposite the museum they were having a festival there was a tepee up and
Performance Art
Had to put this one up for my fellow Uni mates!! there were Native American's dressed in traditional outfits and singers and players and it was really fun to watch they kept dragging people up to dance you can see that in the video! Next I walked up to the Capitol as close as your allowed it's such an impressive building and really pretty with the fountain and flowers. Close to the Capitol I found a little wall enclosed drinking area and that's where the little fountain was it was really nice as it was kind of hidden in the trees and bushes it was like a little haven! Next I went back to the Natural History Museum and straight to the Butterfly pavilion it was really cool you walked through the pavilion and there were tons of pretty flowers everywhere and all kinds of Butterflies from little tiny ones to mahoussive big ones I was disappointed that none of them landed on me one landed on the Japanese girl behind me and she started freaking out quite funny lol!!
Next i went and had a better look round the dinosaur and fossils part of the museum and got some better pictures then the dark ones I'd got earlier on in
the week I also went and took a picture of the Hope Diamond it was absolutely packed in there everyone wanted a pic of it so I figured I should get one too!
I wanted to get a really good view of the city from high up so I walked to the Old Post Office where you take two different elevators up to the 10th floor of the building i think its the 10th and you arrive right into the Clock Tower here you can get a really fab view of the city and its free unlike going up the Washington monument plus you don't have to queue up for ages at the Old Post Office! I had lunch in the food hall and had the funniest pictures taken I won't tell you what they are of until i can scan and upload them as don't wanna spoil the surprise but involves me being superimposed onto a couple of pictures very funny!!
Finally I went to the Crime and Punishment Museum which was so much fun but I completely lost track of time and spent ages in there and was late for dinner but luckily dinner was just ready when
I got in so it all worked out ok!
The Museum was really fun it showed you all the different types of instruments and ways they used to torture people then there was a mock up crime scene and it took you through how they would investigate it, the tools and instruments they would use and in the mock crime lab how they study the body and determine the injuries how they died and how long ago it happened! There was a sign on the wall that compared TV and real life and how realistic Crime shows are some of them are very unrealistic. You had to study a video of the killer making his escape and then see if you could remember what he was wearing and what he looked like which was cool! Then in the Basement of the museum is the live set where they film America's Most Wanted which was really cool to walk round the set, and the picture of me in the room with the green background was a mock up most wanted programme saying that a criminal is on the loose in the Crime and Punishment museum and then the camera comes to
you it was really funny!
The guy in the museum shop loved my accent and talked to me for about ten minutes but he asked me some really dumb questions like so in England what do you speak German? I was like umm no English lol!!
My last meal with Carrie and family was a good old English Roast Dinner and Oh my word it was delicious I hadn't realised how much i missed them till I had it and I then was like wow this is why I'm English lol!! Me and Carrie then went to the Dairy Godmother and had mint oreo frozen custard it would have worked with just the Oreo but the mint just made it taste weird! What a cool name for a shop though and they have merchandise and everything! When we were in the there it chucked it down with rain luckily we had parked right outside so Carrie made a dash to the car, she hasn't got central locking so i was waiting till she unlocked my door before i ran into the rain, she gets in starts the car oh and she was going to pull the car forward away from
Seal made of Whale Bone
I had to laugh when I heard what this was made of its like the seal getting its final own back!! the bushes and so i was pointing at the door mouthing is it unlocked and she was beckoning me toward the car so I ran out and it was still locked I was like Carrie lol she was like I was wondering why you took such a long time to come to the door and what you were trying to say to me!! doh!! I had wanted to go one last time into Old town to get a few little things from one of the shops and to go on the free trolley so Carrie was like shall we go home before i drop you off so you can get your umbrella by this time it had nearly stopped so I was like nah i'll be fine but by the time I'd walked home I was a tad wet as it had chucked it down again when I was in the town!! So I got in had a shower and realised I still had to pack, this week went by so quickly felt like i'd only just unpacked! Time Flies when your having fun!!

Aaah!
Aaah Liz it sounds like you're having such a good time, I'm so jealous lol! Washington DC sounds amazing and looks very pretty from all the photos, and a lot of fun from your descriptions. And ooh look at you, attracting all the American guys, lol at the questions you got asked. Maybe if randomers start asking you stupic questions you could start telling them little white lies... like you're 16th in line to the throne, or your cousin is Kate Winslet! And see if they believe it mwahahaha! -x-
