Today I had to get up at 7am so I could get into DC for 8am to get my ticket for the White House Garden Tour! So I was thinking there was going to be this huge line to get the tickets I got there at 8.10am went to the desk and got my ticket straight away the tours didn't start till 10am my timed entry was for 10.15 so i went and walked down to the Spy Museum as it's a popular museum i bought a timed ticket for 1pm. As i still had time to kill before my garden tour I thought I'd walk pass Ford's Theatre where Lincoln was shot it's closed for renovation at the moment so you can't go inside which was a shame but opposite is the house where Lincoln was carried to and later died in the back room of the house. This week has been a lets see as many bedrooms where Presidents have died in kinda week lol! First George now Lincoln!
Anyway it was interesting, and quite cool as the book I am reading for my school was talking about John Wilkes Booth who was an actor and how when he
killed Lincoln he completely brought the name of actors down and they were looked upon as scoundrels!
Anyway then i went and looked round the White House Visitor Centre and then it was time for my tour of the gardens there was a ton of security to go through but I finally got in, you get to go really close to the back of the house was so tempting to go up to the security guards by the back door charm them with my English Accent and get into the White House or just play knock down ginger but wasn't so keen on bumping into George Bush lol! The view at the top of the garden from the house was really nice you can see the Washington Monument and the pretty fountain very cute and one of the monuments in the background!
The security guys roaming around were very scary looking but so funny looking at the same time as they all looked like Action men lol!
We got to look around the children's garden which actually had a line only took 5 minutes for me when I joined but when i came out it was double the size. The
garden was really sweet and there were feet and hand prints of the children who had lived in the white house in the paving slabs!
After many pictures being taken and asking random people if they minded taking mine on my camera (only trouble when your on your own you have to ask everyone to take your picture for you!) I left the white house gardens and walked all the way round to the other side so I could see the front of the White House obviously there is a big fence in the way but still I had to take a few pictures!
I had lunch and then went to the Spy Museum first I went to Operation Spy an hour long Interactive experience in the museum which was so amazing you had to decode messages, deactivate security systems and other spy related activities it was so cool you work as a team with whoever is in your group I can't say anymore as I am sworn to secrecy lol no not really but they do ask not to tell everyone about as it will spoil their experience if you tell them all the secrets! Then I went round
the Spy museum it was cool you saw all sorts of weapons concealed as normal objects such as guns concealed to look like a lipstick or an umbrella and you could try and unlock a safe by listening to the code, there was a replica spy car and all sorts of other cool things, at the beginning you had a new identity which you had to try and remember details such as name age, place where you were born, where you are going for your mission and your fake reason for going there my name is Maria i am 17 from mexico and I am going to Iowa on vacation for 13 days I think that was right then if you got all these details correct later on they gave you specific details of your mission which you had to remember and were tested on later in the museum I got all of mine correct and they said they will be sending me on further missions lol!!
When I got home the four of us went out for a meal to the King Street Blues Restaurant in Old Town it has all these crazy colourful statues and collages sticking out
from the walls then we got home they put Millie to bed and went out to see the Indiana Jones movie and I babysat I was really worried at one point as she was screaming and so I got her out and was rocking her and she wouldn't stop I was like please don't make me have to call Carrie and so i took her downstairs and she stopped then I saw the row of dummy's and i was like I bet that's what she wanted so I gave her one when i got upstairs an laid her back in her cot she started crying again so I picked her up and she snuggled into me and I rocked her to sleep on the chair it was really cute! I told Carrie when I got home what happened and she was like yeah that was probably all she wanted but it was dark in her room and the dummy in her cot was see through so I hadn't seen it doh could have saved a lot of stress!! lol

Aha!
Liz I can't believe you, you have so much guts taking a picture of Captain America from behind his back, good thing he didn't turn around and think your camera was a secret gun from the Spy Museum lol! And I now have visions of you playing Knockdown Ginger at the White House and George Bush coming to the door in his jimjams and thinking "WHAT? The doorbell rang but no one's here! This is not how it works! The doorbell means visitors but I see no one here! The whole world is turning upside down! Soon cats will be chasing dogs and giant ants will walk among people as our equals and whatnot!" And then he'll go to the King Street Blues Restaurant and see all the weird stuff on the walls and his suspicions will be confirmed. I believe that as a commissioned spy it is your duty to MAKE THIS HAPPEN! Go on, it'd be hilarious! But not if it means Captain America would shoot you though, haha! -x-
