Bryce Canyon
A tree growing over a cliff, an amazing view. Once we were all ready this morning we jumped into the 4WD and made our way to the next National Park, again one Hannah and I had been to before and loved, Bryce Canyon National Park. It was another scorching hot day as we took the 2 hour drive into Bryce Canyon stopping briefly to pick up a slab of water to keep us alive in the heat. Our first stop was the Bryce Canyon National Park sign where taking a few cheesy tourist photos of us climbing all over it was a must. We eventually jumped back in the car and drove to the nearby Visitors Centre to check it out. This is where 3 years ago I purchased an amazing National Parks of America Book and since then a new editions had been released, so in keeping with tradition I bought it. We took one of the free shuttle buses from the Visitor’s Centre to Bryce Canyon where with our map we picked one of the hikes and went to find the trailhead. We began at an amazing lookout point from which we could see most of Bryce Canyon, it was an incredible view. After loads of photos and

Fantastic views across Bryce Canyon from a lookout point. a few minutes just to take in the stunning view we started on the hike.
We spent most of the afternoon on this hike taking in the gorgeous views and lookout points in Bryce Canyon National Park. As it was getting later we could see horrible clouds moving in fast towards us so we decided to catch the nearest tourist bus back to the Visitor’s Centre and head back to the car. Before we made the long drive home we decided to drive up to some of the higher lookout points in Bryce Canyon. It was a much longer drive than I had originally expected and we passed many other lookout points on the way up, however we were keen to go as high as the roads would let us. The views from the top were breathtaking, we could pretty much see the entire National Park and beyond from here. After a many photos and a quick snack break we headed back down, stopping at a few additional viewpoints as we went. And soon enough we began the long drive back to Pondarosa Ranch, I was driving, everyone else as fast asleep.
Once we arrived back at our

Looking out over the incredible landscapes of Bryce Canyon. Ranch we all had a short break before it was time to start thinking about dinner, we tried a restaurant on the way home but there was no one to be found so left. We checked the restaurants at the Ranch, one wasn’t particularly appetising, the other which was packed the night before was closed and the previously very friendly, kind staff were today quite rude and very unhelpful. Instead we got back in the car to find another restaurant nearby. We tried a pizza place down the road which was attached to a souvenir shop, no good, by now I was getting really frustrated, I was starving. We drove all the way back to the next town and found a stogy looking diner which would have to do. Turned out to be quite a good restaurant and once we were done we headed back to the Ranch. It was only when we arrived back at our Ranch that I could hear a loud hissing noise, I followed it to the front right tire to find we had a rather large puncture. Frustrated I drove the car to the reception building for better light (it was already pitch black outside)

It took us at least an hour to figure out how to release the spare and another half hour to replace the old one, it was extremely tiring, dirty work. But finally we did it! We stored the punctured tire drove the car back up to our Ranch and exhausted, collapsed in bed and straight to sleep.
