Today we got breakfast in Albuquerque, and headed out on the road. Krystal drove 12 hours and we made it to beautiful Kerrville, Texas. During our drive we named New Mexico the land of shrubs, not the land of enchantment, and Texas the land of deer. Krystal has never had to drive and look out for deer. After a terrifying experience, and an after dark deer sighting count of over 20, we made friends with a truck driver whose high beams were very helpful in looking out for deer, and followed him for the last 200 miles. We arrived in Kerrville, which is a little under an hour outside of San Antonio, at 2:30 in the morning. You know you're in a trucker town when there are special rates for just being there to sleep...
