We got a late start this morning. We were up at 6:30 AM, but decided to spend some time making changes to our trip itinerary. We decided to spend more time in New Mexico and then head for Colorado. Our good friends Bob and Gloria offered us their lodge in Winter Park, and having been there twice already, we jumped at the chance to go there again. It is such a wonderful place in a wonderful town. So…after making new reservations and cancelling others, we were off at 9:30 AM and 87 degrees, heading west through Hill Country toward western Texas. The drive today was eclectic. Greetings from dusty, windy Odessa! We are here visiting Don's nephew Chad and his wife Shawna. They were gracious enough to let us park on their 10 acre property. Chad works for an oil company here in Odessa but recently got a promotion and so they are in the process of packing and moving to Fort Collins, CO. They are very excited to leave Texas and venture to a new state. Chad and Shawna bought us dinner, which we weren't happy about, it was Mexican, my favorite, and we had a really nice visit. It was really windy and dusty while we were there. About the same as it has been since we left California. We are heading to Fredericksburg, TX tomorrow to stay at Buckhorn RV park.
